Hola Everyone,
Today I did the tour of Chichen Itza. Just about a 12 hour day. It's a long drive from the hotel zone to Chichen Itza, about a 2.5 hour drive...each way. I was the first pickup...7:25 a.m.,...needless to say I slept a bit on the bus this morning. Sheila, Catherine, and Sheila's husband, Howard were my touring friends. They are from England. Older people, but they were fun to hang with on the tour. On the bus coming back, we watched a documentary on the history of the Mayans. Afterwards, I dozed for a bit. On the bus I felt pretty exhausted, but when I got back to the apt., I felt a bit more energized. I prepared lasagna and veggies for dinner. Both the microwaveable kind of course. It was tasty. I will more than likely crash early tonight. Tomorrow I am scheduled to do a short tour called a "duck tour", which is on one of those land/water tour deals. I may see if I can get out of it, do it another day, or ask for a credit for up to a year. I think I may come back next year...so far, I'm liking it.
On Friday I tour Tulum/Coba, more Mayan ruins. Another long day. I do have to say this, all touring attractions are pretty much the same...the many vendors, the tour guide trying to get you to buy particular items so that he/she can get his/her cut...yata. yata, yata. Well, I will let the pics do the rest of the talking. Enjoy. Check back in a few days for Tulum/Coba pics. Until then.
