From Belem I caught the bus to Forteleza where I met a Swiss girl - Angela - and on Wednesday we both headed up to Jericoacoara, a little travellers paradise in far corner of Brazil accessible only by jeep. Jeri itself is tiny, with just a few streets which are just sand, lots of shops, restaurants and pousadas (places to sleep).
Jeri is a very popular wind and kite surfing spot however it is also a nice place to stay still for a few days and enjoy the sea. Most of the last few days have been spent doing just that, sitting on the beach and enjoying the view, with the odd trip up ´sunset dune´a sand dune from which you can apparently see an amazing sunset, unfortunately despite mainly blue skies there have been persistent clouds over the horizon for the last few days and therefore although lovely the sunset hasn´t been great.
Yesterday however was slightly more active as we went on a buggy tour to see some beautiful lakes set among sand dunes before heading out to sample the Jeri nightlife (mainly focused around a few drink stalls on beach).
Tomorrow afternoon we are leaving Jeri after these lovely few days and making our way back to real-world Brazil!
