This morning I visited a little while with a couple, Steve and Dorothy Hull, from Longview. They have a cute little retro travel trailer and are parked across from my site. Steve was sitting outside reading a book. I asked him for permission to photography the trailer. Dorothy invited me inside. They both were very willing to be included in the photos. I asked Dorothy if she is a member of the Sisters on the Fly; she isn’t but she knows about them. They have four adult children, two of whom live in Austin.

At 10:00 Nancy Riley and I went to the Austin Photography Expo sponsored by Precision Camera. I headed first to the KEH table to see if they would buy some of my old equipment. They don’t pay much at all but I decided to go ahead and sell my monopod, which I was not happy with; they paid me $25. They offered $25 apiece for my digital 5.0-megapixel Olympus and Fuji cameras but I turned them down. I can take off more than that on my income tax return if I donate them to charity! I knew I couldn’t sell them for much but thought I’d get more than $25.

Nancy discussed a little problem her camera is having with the Canon representative. He told her it needed to be cleaned and offered to send it to Canon. She decided against that.

After browsing a little, we attended Texas Highways’ seminar by Griff Smith. He showed slides and then discussed his methods. It was interesting.

By the time we had finished that, we were ready for lunch so we stopped in at Noodle & Company. I tried their Pad Thai bowl, which was good.

On the way home we stopped at Precision Camera to have Nancy’s camera checked. As so often happens with things, the camera performed flawlessly in the hands of the repair manager.

We then decided to splurge on some Amy’s Ice Cream. Before I had finished my cone, I was wishing that I had bought a smaller portion.

Our last act was to feed Sweet Pea ($3.039).
