Forgotten Coast travel blog

Chris & Char Williams, Judy and I visited Edward Ball Wakulla Springs State Park located at the cave source of the short Wakulla River. The river has become a favorite home for the manatees, alligators, turtles and hundreds of exotic birds. We spent time watching the manatees from the 2 story diving platform. It was too cold for us to swim in the spring waters (always 69 degrees), but you can swim right with the gentle manatee if you choose to do so. We took the short guided river tour, which was great. We had lunch at the fabulous 1940's era hotel (still in operation).
