Though we were in Quebec City for only a couple short days, we had a wonderful time. Our first day there, the weather was unreasonably hot - 35 degrees in the shade, 95% humidity, and absolutely no breeze. We stayed camped out at our campsite until the evening, when we walked along the Promenade des Gouverneurs, just below the Citadel.
The next day, we walked all around old Quebec City after taking the ferry over from Levis. We visited Place Royale, just up from the waterfront, where we returned later on to have dinner. We then took the funicular up to the walled part of the city. We saw many charming hotels, the Chateau Frontenac, and a couple parks as well. We also toured the Quebec Citadelle, still an active military base. They had interesting museums and displays, and lots of history. Located in the Citadelle is the Governor-General's second residence. We were able to tour, a very interesting residence with many pieces of interesting art (all Canadian but not all good in my opinion), architecture and other pieces of history. That concluded our visit, and we are now headed to Ottawa for Canada Day.
