Leaving Blugrass, Va

Happy 40th birthday to the "sensational rookie unlimited hydroplane boat racer". Last Sunday afternoon all of us celebrated with a trip to Hooters for wings!

Monday was a two-fold treat: 1) a good report from the oncologist 2) Heading up to the mountain house to complete some chores. Our photos captured beautiful sun shiny days. Then late Friday afternoon...the snow clouds rolled easterly over Snowy Mountain. Fine flakes began falling. By the time we left our friends home everything was coated in white. It continued to snow heavily overnight resulting in 6-8 inches accumulation.

Sealing the metal roof, rebuilding the cellar doors, scraping and painting two sides of the house were thankfully completed but not without a few sore muscles! We were pleasantly surprised at how much I was able to accomplish yet made aware of lost strength and stamina.

While at the mountain house, we make time for pleasurable activities. 4 wheel drive rides in the Tracker on Allegheny Mountain, having lunch at the Greenbrier luncheonette, sharing supper with friends, picking apples from our trees, and relaxing by the wood stove. My Halloween treat is a trip to the infusion center-"poison" day. This witch's brew will keep me enjoying life-so no complaints from either of us!
