The road out of town. Somewhere around Olympia

1st truck stop diner on the first day of being full-timers

This was the day we have been waiting for forever, or what seemed like forever. We have started on our journey around this wonderful country.

After packing the trailer, locking things in, saying goodbye to some neighbors, I walked back into our empty house. What overwhelming feelings of emotion! I could remember the day I moved in, all the decorative changes...the couch was on every wall it could be on at one time or another, oh, that's where we always had the Christmas tree, except for a couple times, the dining room which saw so many celebrations, talks, playing games. The bedroom that went from frilly when I was alone, to a bit more elegant when John moved in. The major changes we made to the kitchen and both bathrooms, standing with my back to the pellet stove with my robe hiked up to get more heat, watching t.v. late at night, the building of the deck and arbor...oh, the memories. As I walked through each room, I smiled, only remembering the happy times, and as I closed the door for the last time, I knew it was going to be okay.

We drove a little past Olympia to get gas and some breakfast. So,it was my first truck stop diner (Michael's...my handsome son's name) on our journey. Actually, I have been to many truck stop diners, my husband loves them, but this was a special one. Then, off to our 1st stop..the 99 RV Park in Vancouver, Wash. Not too far, but after all the work getting ready to go, and the emotion of saying so long to our children, we were exhausted and ready to take a day or two to chill.

But, the best thing....we are happy and it is cocktail hour. So, a toast to you, to your good health and to your happiness...from us, the Tyo's!
