We had a long..... incredible drive today from Mesquite, Nevada to Grand Junction, Colorado. The scenery through parts of Utah changed every few minutes, we were all amazed at the beauty of this area.
We climbed to about 7800 feet in elevation. They had quite a few of the runaways for trucks out of control, we could see why with the huge climbs in elevation.
We had a perfect day until we got about 75 miles from Grand Junction. We started having trouble with the fuel line. At first we thought it was because of the steep climbs until it finally stopped and would not go at all. Jerry checked the back of the RV and saw fuel spraying from the engine. Yikes!
We had to call the Good Sam Club and have it towed the rest of the way to Grand Junction. We are parked at the Cummins repair shop and will be here until they get the parts needed to fix the cracks in the main fuel supply line, hopefully they will arrive on Monday. The tow truck cost was $1200, all paid by our Good Sam Insurance. Thank God for Insurance Companies! They did a great job of getting the help to us as fast as possible.
We are trying to make the best of our wait by exploring the area. :-) Wouldn't you know something like this would happen while we have Betty traveling with us? She has been wonderful and we are all determined to have a superb time, even if we are parked in a parking lot for repair. We are hoping to be back on the road by Tuesday.
Check back later for more updates from Colorado.
