Charlie built a beautiful fire for us last night ...

... which we enjoyed while watching the sunset on the lake

According to the weatherman, we have just enjoyed our last warm day here. Despite being close to 80 degrees today, temperatures are forecast to only be in the 50s the next couple of days. So we did our best to enjoy the outdoors the past couple of days.

Both yesterday and today, we took an hour long walk through the campground loops. It is so beautiful here. Although it’s been breezy during the day, the skies have been clear and blue, and the fall colors really show off against the blue lake. This is a great place to spend a couple of weeks in the fall season.

The campground host came by yesterday and informed us that the loop that we are staying in will remain open all year long. Unlike most of the COE parks we have visited, they will also leave on the water and electric and one bath house. The rest of the park will be closing November 1.

On Wednesday, we stayed in the park all day which is not hard to do. : ) They cut down a very large tree in the campsite next to us, and Charlie picked out several nice logs that they left behind. So he worked off and on all day splitting the logs for firewood. Meanwhile, I cleaned up inside the RV, vacuuming, mopping, dusting and cleaning the bathroom.

Today after enjoying another gorgeous morning walk, we got ready and went out for lunch. It was Thursday, and this meant that The Smokin’ Pig was once again open! And as if it were possible, it seemed even tastier today than it did last week.

After our late lunch, we drove into Anderson to do some shopping. I went to Michaels and bought a lot of beads that were on sale this week. Charlie went to Target, and then we both went to Bed Bath and Beyond. Charlie’s neck has been bothering him, and he wanted to purchase an Isotoner memory foam pillow like mine.

I took a bike ride tonight while Charlie rested his neck on the heating pad for a while. We put away everything outside in anticipation of rain moving in tonight.

Since the weather is supposed to be chilly for the next few days, we have some plans for tomorrow. Charlie made some dinner reservations for us to go out to celebrate my birthday this weekend too. It should be a fun weekend.
