The Sun Seeker

After a nice breakfast, we decided a change of our original plans was in order due to the weather changes so rather than going out on their pontoon boat we would instead drive southeasterly to Lake Guntersville and get to experience the beauty of the area.

Guntersville Lake (generally referred to locally as Lake Guntersville) is located in north Alabama between Bridgeport and Guntersville. Created by Guntersville Dam along the Tennessee River, it stretches 75 miles (121 km) from Guntersville Dam to Nickajack Dam. It is Alabama's largest lake at 69,000 acres (280 km²). The lake and dam received its name from the town of Guntersville, which received its name from an early settler of the area, John Gunter.

It was fun having Nan and Rudy show us other areas they had explored as potential homesteads before finding the fabulous home they decided was theirs to enjoy.

This isn't the usual post we've done - this is more about showing a fun time spent with friends, seeing some beautiful spots here in Alabama and just having a great time together.

Nan surprised me when she told me she was inviting a "blast from my past" to dinner. A man that was pretty much responsible for me getting into the upward mobility program and teaching me alot about the career field was in town and was coming to dinner - I could hardly wait to see George again.

So this post is more about old friends having good times and reconnecting once again.

Till the next time . . .
