Billy can't remember what we did in Manzanita, so I have to fill in....Judy

We spent 5 nights at the Nehalem Bay State Park Campground, just south of the charming little town of Manzanita. The beach was incredibly beautiful and I walked a lot and watched some great sunsets. We had rain for several days and so caught up on some inside projects as well the laundry!!

I found a drop in yoga place and went to 2 classes. At the first one, I was the only person to drop in, so I had a private class with a wonderful woman about my age who had been doing yoga for many years. At the class 2 days later, two young women also showed up and I did not feel quite so special, but got a good workout

One day, we took a side trip to the Tillamook Creamery. There were videos and a couple of observation decks to watch the cheese being processed. They make fabulous cheese with samples available and also tons of flavors of the creamiest ice cream!! What a fun place, all the employees seemed to be enjoying themselves too.

We also set out to take the Three Capes coastal trip. First we checked with the Visitor's Center and found out that the first one was closed because the road had fallen off the cliff!!!! We went ahead and did the rest of the drive and also saw Sand Lake, where the sand has drifted inland from the beach through the forest...very weird.

When it was still drizzling on the 5the day and we chose not to golf, we headed south to the Chinook Winds Casino and Resort at Lincoln City right on the beach. There were a group of kite boarders on the beach who were fascinating to watch. We toured the Casino and decided to hang out in the RV and sample all our great cheeses and sausage and fresh crab that we had found in our travels. We stayed the night in the Casino RV lot with many others. Tuesday morning was Billy's Birthday so we went to the Casino for the Buffet Breakfast and then headed down the road to our next stop, the South Beach state Park near Newport, Oregon.
