Route 40W from Knoxville to Nashville is a beautiful ride this time of year. The colors in the mountains seemed a bit muted but lovely just the same. I sat back, relaxed, and enjoyed the trip.
I didn't realize there would be a time change - I am on Central Time now- so I arrived at the hotel an hour before Jim and Diane. Gosh it was good to see them again. We spent the day together, will have breakfast tomorrow morning, and then they head north and I head south.
We drove to the Opryland Hotel ( $20 to self park!). Diane and Jim had explored this amazing place before but I had never been . I wish I could find out how big the staff is that takes care of the flora and fauna. Not a dead leaf on any plant or flower - all the beds were perfection.
Broadway is name of the main street downtown and after we walked around listening to the live music ( and dodging all the hockey fans heading to the Nashville Predator game), we had dinner . The chatter was non stop - we are completely caught up on all the news. The weather couldn't have been nicer, the company was terrific, dinner was good, so I'd say it was a grand day!
