How frustrating that I couldn’t write in my journal while in San Antonio but problems with the computer, internet and Good Sams Club site kept me from being on the computer.
So I am going to try to get caught up by starting with leaving Ft. Stockton. Jim had his catfish, yeah. What a cute RV resort. We have never been to one that had a café so that was new. The trip to San Antonio was so much nicer in scenery and road.
From Ft. Stockton to San Antonio the landscape became greener, the road was smooth and yes the rolling hills continued. It was way crazy when we got into the city because neither of us have been in “rush hour” traffic for a very long time and then to add a 20,000 lb motor home on top of that …..well there was some yelling.
Yet we made it to the Medina River and to Alamo River Ranch and RV. Looking back it was a great RV park. When we got there we set up and the owners drove over in their golf cart to welcome us. They even let us use the cart to go down to the river and drive through the park. Will and Kasi showed up almost immediately after we got to the park so we all went for a ride.
First we had to be introduced to our little Kolby. What a sweetheart. He looks just like his daddy and loves his mommy. I was so impressed with how well adjusted our grandson appears to be. It wasn’t until we were down at the river that I got my hug! I chased Kollby and when I caught up with him I hugged on him something fierce.
The river looks a lot like the bayou with its big trees and roots rising above the water. Where we were it looked more like a creek however further down it was definitely a river. Oh and how green it was! The moss on the trees, the grass (YES, grass!) and trees. Everywhere trees.
Anyways, we got to visit with Will, Kasi and Kolby and all was a go to have Kolby stay with us on Wednesday. Alex and Kolby were so cute together. Alex went straight up to Kolby and offered him a toy and gave him a hug. Later, after dinner, Alex felt it was time to give Kolby a kiss. So after about 4 kisses and one on the lips, Kolby looked at Alex and said “go away.”
The two hour difference made it hard to figure out what time it was and when to go to bed but as soon as we were tired we said our goodbyes and went to sleep.
