We were sooo glad we used the trailer to get to Tennessee to start and to bring the bikes back to Maryland. We had great weather the whole trip (except Navasota) but it was raining and 45 degrees when we LEFT Md., it was 49 degrees in Tennessee when we left there, and it rained almost all the way home, although it was warmer when we got here.
Total mileage on the bikes for the trip, about 2850, then about 1400 in the jeep with the trailer. We want to go back to Texas for some riding we missed, because we just didn't have enough time. There are many good roads and cool places to visit in the Texas Hill Country, west of Austin, towns like Lukenbach and Bandera, and the LBJ Ranch to visit maybe.
Then we wanted to go to Corpus Christi on the Gulf and South Padre Island, but that is almost to Brownsville and Mexico and would have taken us three more days, round trip. Everyone says to visit Big Bend National Park on the western edge of the state. All in all, we could spend two weeks for a trip JUST to Texas.
We also didn't spend any time on the Alabama Gulf Coast, Dauphin Island, Mobile Bay, Orange Beach and Gulf Shores, Perdido Key. We've been to the Perdido Key and Orange Beach area, not by motorcycle. They have good bars...The Flora-Bama, Lulus, and Pirates Cove.
Next week we'll be in Key West, but there will be no blog for that. What happens in Key West stays in Key West.

It's long, but there are lots of pictures of animals in this one, something we didn't see on this year's trip, not even an armadillo.
