Churches are not baroque, they are Romanesque or Gothic

We have had 10 more beautiful days in Fontes, the weather has been in the mid 20s and clear blue skies. We did another great walk, but didn’t notice at the beginning we chose the most difficult. From the top we could see the sea, the Pyrenees Mountains on the border with Spain.

On our first day here we noticed a poster about a Lyric Festival in Pezenas so booked tickets for 4 nights. The first night it was held in a beautiful church. And the program was 6 opera singers singing music from the Barber of Seville. The second night was to honour a famous French opera singer from this area. She is now 85 and present in the front row. We all stood and clapped as she arrived and the night was full of gestures and some speeches honouring her. The music was more well know opera solos and duets. It was really great to have come by the poster and take the risk of booking seats.
