Frank & Ruthie's Rig

We were getting ready to leave when Frank from next door stopped to say goodbye. He had stopped by when we were setting up and had invited us over to see his motor home. They had wrapped it with pictures of their journey. They wanted it to be a tribute to the men and women who serve. Frank spent 30 years in the Navy serving on 3 different aircraft carriers. He and his wife drove stock cars into their 40’s and 50’s. They have visited all but one of the lower 48 states and have over 7000 pictures of their travels. They were very nice people and took great pride in sharing about the pictures on the side of their motor home. It was neat talking with them and it was too bad we didn’t have more time to visit with them.

It was already getting hot and I was sweating before we left them to hit the road. We got just out of town when traffic came to a slow crawl. It wasn’t too long until we came upon the fire department putting out a roadside fire. We drove through more farm ground with cotton, corn, alfalfa, trees and grapes. There was a town about every 10 miles along the way. We only came about 80 miles today and once we got setup; we stayed indoors with the air conditioners going. We have found a church to go to tomorrow. It is a huge place and we are looking forward to being with God’s people once again.
