Marie's mother was born at the Chateau when I lived here.

Our Hotel Diderot built in the 1400's and quite comfy.

Jan's daily wine and my beer when we arrived in Chinon.

Gee, we just can't keep our feet on the ground as we soared over the Loire valley and viewed a chateau and country sides from our hot air balloon ride yesterday. A fun way to see beautiful sites. I started yesterday walking the streets alone and reminiscing. I found a few of the building I remember but it all seemed so much bigger when I was 8 years old. I hope my pictures can show all I saw. Then we did our balloon ride about an hour away from Chinon. We made a wrong turn on our way home that cost us an hour of travel time and extra toll fees, so we were a bit late for our very gourmet french dinner with wine of course from here in Chinon. Today, we toured the local castle of Chinon and got a great overview history from a guide who's mom was born in the castle and her parents were the custodians of the property when I used to roam the ruins as a kid. Spotted the home we lived in but the view seems to have been covered by trees. After we left the Castle we found the driveway and went to the house and snapped a couple pic's, but were warned the owner may be a bit off, so we left quickly. At least I was there tho. We found a wonderful bakery for a snack and will get some more on our way out of town on Wednesday as we travel back to Paris for the rest of the week. All is well with us and hope all of you are the same. Adieu, for now.
