We like to stay at state parks for most of our camping while on vacaction. Some times we need to be able to take a nice swim or maybe do our laundry. Then we stay at a KOA, this KOA was at Horse CAve , KY. We have stayed at Mammoth Cave National Park years ago and the National Park don't have elect hook-up and we needed to charge up a few things. This way we could still visit the park and still have what we wanted in camping. We did a few Earthcaches in the park and a few outside the park. We did not go in to Mammoth cave this time, we got to visit other places in the park that most people don't get to see or visit. We get to see out of the way places and get to see and do what most people don't get to do or see. We stopped on the way to Mammoth cave at a earthcache that was a small cave next to the main road to the park. The cave was about twenty feet back inside the hill and we had to see what type of rock made up the cave walls. On down the road we came up on a virtual cache , at a virtual cache you don't have a log sheet to sign, you get to visit the location and log in that you were there to see the cache. This cache was the old "WIGWAM" teepee hotel that was build back in the 50's for people to stay in while on vacation down the main road to florida . While in the Mammoth cave park we got to walk the trails in the woods for a few nice caches. We had a great time and after that walk we went back to the KOA for a nice campfire.
