Although we didn't have time to explore Pueblo today, of much greater importance, the exhaust brake on our truck was repaired. We are good to go for the remainder of our journey to Arizona.
If you ever need diesel repairs in the Pueblo area, I can highly recommend the services of Pueblo Diesel Injection in Pueblo West. Their diagnosis of the problem was spot on and they only charged an hour of labor for 2-1/2 hours of trouble shooting. They assured me right up front that all major components looked good and finally discovered a wire that had been melted by close proximity to a heat source in the engine compartment. A wire tie had broken.
It is just as well that we didn't continue our travels today. A strong west wind is blasting across I-25, which would have made the drive to New Mexico difficult if not impossible for our long high rolling home. Much lower wind speeds are in tomorrows forecast.
We are spending the balance of the day with quiet activities in preparation for the long travel day to Santa Fe, New Mexico tomorrow. The current plan is to hold over at Santa Fe Skies RV Park for three nights before a one night stay at USA RV Park in Gallup, New Mexico on Friday.
An email from new full timers David and Judi has presented the opportunity to meet these two good cyber friends for lunch on Wednesday in Santa Fe. All our contacts with these folks has been by email and guest book comments, and we are looking forward to meeting with them at a good lunch location.
We'll check back in with you all again tomorrow from Santa Fe....................................
