Off to the garden

It was wonderful to have our two friends Isobel and Alison here with us for 5 days. We had a great time being shown around their wonderful home and the surrounding villages. The house is in Fontes looking onto the town square, a great vantage point to see everything that is happening. The countryside is dotted with 6-8 villages within 4-6 Kilometres all with lovely historic town centres. Our first adventure was to the Pezenas markets to get food for the week. Then it was off to the half acre garden and orchard.

Its very dry, (but looks lush because of the grape vines and olives) so the garden has a Canberra Summer look at the moment. We had a good clean up, helped cut the wood for winter and Sue made a compost ready for spring.

Apart from hanging around our local area, going to the beach and of course eating out, we did a 2 hour walk in the L’Herault National Park on one of the Grande Randonnees, which are the old pilgrim trail all over Europe.
