St Patrick's Church

Main St, Chanute

Sunset over Santa Fe RV Park

What can you say about Chanute? It was terribly hot and Richard worked in all that heat to swap all the stuff from the old truck to the new truck. He also had an Airsafe hitch installed in the truck by Young's Welding of Chanute. We are looking forward to the much improved ride.

We stayed one night in Olathe at a great Best Western but the rest of the time was spent at the Knights Inn across the road from Santa Fe RV Park while the 5th wheel was in for repairs. It was adequate. Chanute does have a great Mexican restaurant, El Pueblito, right across from Walmart. And St. Patrick’s Church, while beautiful, is the home of a priest, Fr. Bernie, who is out of 50’s Catholicism. His favorite phrase was “pain of mortal sin”.

After getting everything put back together both in the new truck and the new desk in the RV, we left Santa Fe RV Park on Sunday, August 28 for Salina, KS and the Sundowner West RV Park just west of town.
