Pam & Louis' Empty Nest Chile Adventure travel blog

Today we spent a quiet day in San Pedro. Had a chance to sleep in, walk the narrow dirt streets, admire the local scenery and of course visit the countless tourist shops.

Internet was down in the hotel. What do you expect from a hotel that has red mud walls and no TV. The no TV is alright but the no Internet, just can't take that. So here we are in the town square, sitting in the park acting like a real tourist. Can't complain too much of the hotel, the staff is incredibly nice. The maid very neatly folded all of our clothes. Sure if I left the dirty clothes on the floor she would be kind enough to wash them.

Pam finally found a real coffee, they are in dire needs of a Tim Hortons or a visit from from Juan Valdez. Lunch today was roast chicken and (pappas fritas) french fries. We are so much missing Canadian food.

Sorry no photos today. No Internet at the hotel means no download of pictures. Had to type this on the IPAD. You will have to imagine this photo: picture the volcano at the edge of town with a horizontal cloud just passing over the summit. Makes it look active. Correction, I have been told it is an active volcano

Tomorrow is a busy day as we are on the move again. Will be taking bus, planes and taxis between 5 different cities before arriving at our hotel late tomorrow night. Apologies if there is no entry in the blog tomorrow.
