We had another nice day to travel into West Virginia. The sky was overcast which kept the temperature down some.
We drove along the Ohio River Byway which is State Route 7 along the Ohio River. Across the river is West Virginia. We saw pretty leaves and more agriculture. We had been seeing soy bean fields that looked ready to harvest. Today we saw farmers taking in the soy beans. All the corn we have seen has been dry and ready to be ground up for sillage to feed to the animals this winter.
We have been impressed on this trip with how much of the countyside is used for crops and animals.
We saw barge traffic on the river and some beautiful houses with beautiful views of the river and trees.
We crossed the Ohio River into West Virginia near Proctorville, OH, and Barboursville, WV. We had a short drive along US60 to Milton, WV, to the KOA where we will be staying tonight. The KOA is decorated for Halloween. There are two catch and release fishing ponds. We arrived about 3 o'clock so we have a nice afternoon to hang around here. The pups have already been to the Doggie Playground...a large fenced area where they can roam around off leash.
As of tonight, we will have completed our mission to camp in each of the 48 states. We are already thinking about some trips that focus on a specific state so we can see some things we missed before.
Tomorrow we will be in Wytheville, VA, along I-81.
