The day started out with a bang, literally!! Bob goes to the grocery every morning to pick up the USA Today, but this morning, the grocery did not have it so he stopped at the local Shell station/Convenience Store. As he was backing up, he had to stop due to some traffic (Colon's morning rush hour which consist of about 10 cars). As he sat there waiting for the traffic to clear, a car driven by a distracted mother backed into the driver's door. There are about four very ugly scratches on the door about 18-20 inches long. Thank goodness we took out the offered insurance. Bob called Enterprise and they told him as long as it was drivable and he felt comfortable driving it, not to worry about it. To show you just how small Colon is, the police were not on duty yet! It was before 8 am. Colon has three police people and they take turns making their rounds. The county seat police were called but said since the incident happened on private property, they would not be coming to investigate. After that, the day could only get better. Well we thought so anyway. There was a shopping trip to Coldwater, specifically to look for a motor stand and some battery solar spotlights. Struck out on both, so back to Colon empty handed (well except for a short trip to Walmart and you always leave WM with at least one shopping bag). Pretty soon Bev, Phyl's sister, arrived for the weekend and it was time for dinner. This was the first time we've been the only other people here for meals, so it was a leisurely time or laughter and fellowship. However, all good things must end and tomorrow we all have to start working our butts off moving furniture and starting to decorate for the wedding next Saturday!
