Today I covered 587 miles from Shamrock,TX to Rolla,MO. I didn't take any pictures but I did have an adventure. At one time or another,I have been in all the states except Hawaii and Kansas. So before going into Missouri, I decided to take a short ziggy-zag into KS. I wasn't there very long. Many tribes have many casinos in this area. I was zooming along when I saw a cop sitting in the median. I looked at my speedometer and I was going 80. I put on the brake but I knew it was too late. Sure enough in my rear view mirror, I saw him turn around. I pulled over and waited for him. He was very nice and we had a nice chat. He wanted to check everything including insurance card to see if I was a safe driver. I guess he was satisfied because he just gave me a warning. For the rest of my KS drive I really watched my speed (very difficult).

Now, if you are acquainted with my driving foibles, you know that I tend to take short cuts which end up being either lost or taking much longer. I stopped at a McDonalds and asked a fellow if I could take the next road east to catch up with my route. Sure he said. I ended up driving about 2 or 3 miles on a gravel road. My GPS advised continuing on the dirt roads and many minutes later I got on my original route. If I had followed the planned route, it would have been easier and faster. Oh well...

Tomorrow I am going to have fun getting around St. Louis. If I'm not home by Thursday, send someone to St.Lou to find me.

If I didn't have to get home, I would have stopped in Branson and would have gone on to WV to visit my friend Connie. Maybe another time.

Hope to have a picture tomorrow of the arch in St. Lou.

Until then,love to all,

M A
