| We left San Ramon and got another tica bus to daveed in panama...after arriving in San Jose at 9am the bus didn't leave to go to daveed so we had 3 hours to kill who allowed us some time to see a little of san Jose. It took 8 hours to get there this included an hour at the costa rica panama border...the border crossings are a bit of a joke...you have to get off the bus and got too the countries exit, then go to the next countries entry. After this they make everyone take there bags off the bus and keep you standing outside in the baking sun or in a hot and sweaty room. We were stood there for about 30 mins before they told us to Open our bags, the guy peaked in mine and the let me go!!...weird must be some checklist think that they have to do cause there was no search. Made it to daveed and immediately notived that there was a massive difference to all the other countries we have been to, we could see tgi Fridays, pizza hut mcdoanlds, large office buildings and bank, proper roads and lots of well mainted and better condition of cars, there was also loadsa yellow taxis like in states We got in a taxi to our hostel as we cluldnt work out were we where on the map, we are getting better at the map reading ( only just), as we drove to the hostel I was reminded of America and The suburbs/ housing estates we had passed through when traveling there, the houses were in alot better condition and just better houses in general We arrived at bambu hostel and as we are trying to save £ we opted for the cheaper room that had no air-con, Nico (employee) showed us the room which was ok. There was 2 large water tanks attached to the wall with some tubes coming out them, in reply to what they were nico fobbed us off with oooh this used to be a torture chamber...ha ha..he left us to it!!!!.....we had a wee look round the room and went for a beer. We returned about 11:30 to go to bed and started to had a mosey about the room (we are women and social workers l) so this was a given, there was a picture of the digestive system on the wall,and a cupboard which of course we peaked in full of long brown pipes and ky jelly!!... Well the penny dropped and as we sat there our bunk beds we got more and more freaked out lol especially as the guy had said the lady just up and left!!!... We negotiated a new room for $10...and slept better for it:) The next day we were so chuffed at having a pool we knew it would be hot so we sat by it... It pissed down so we moved into the under cover area with the hammocks!!!!... As weboth lay there listening to the rain I noticed my camera ( no 6) getting dripped on and without thinking ( yes I know dad it's no like me) I jumped up and ran to get it... I don't know how many steps I took but before I knew I hit the deck full force and slid across right to the table the camera was on... As I lay there winded and possibly about to cry I heard Alice get up asking if I was ok all then heard was aaaaaaahhhhhh as Alice crashed into the back me!!!... Although we were both in pain we laughed like crazy and the camera thank god was fine:) |
