After a day of rest and relaxation and an amazing dinner at Authuille, Alison, Brendan Paul, Alison and I headed out to Normandie on Friday the 24th to visit Honfleur and the pays d'Auge.
We drove down there, an uneventful trip. Got into the appartment that we had rented and headed to the beach.
After a game of rocky/sandy (think of it as horse shoes played with rocks on the beach) and a dip in the ocean we headed back to the apartement only to discover that we had lost our keys somewhere on the beach. I know! We headed back to find them but to no avail donc nous avons contacter la propriétaire qui nous en a donné des nouvelles (et oui nous n'avons pas cnter tout à fait la vérité)
After some down time (to recuperate from the trauma of the lost keys), we feasted on Moules frites and went and hung out in the Vieux Bassin area. It's a beautiful area and was nice and relaxing. Later on when we went to sample some of the local drinks we met some very interesting Finnish characters....
Day two of our trip was spent sleeping in, enjoying some breakfast that Paul and Brendan cooked up for us, trawling the markets (and no I haven't bought anything yet despite the fact that Soldes started on Friday) and a rainy boat ride.
Nous nous sommes ensuite dirigés vers Etretat pour voir les falaises et avons monté d'un bord. La vue était spectaculaire!
Finally we stopped in Amiens on our way back to Arras...where I FINALLY say the Cathedrale lit up. They do a light show where they lit out parts of the facade of the cathedrale so you can see what it would have looked like orginally when it was painted. It was beautiful and worth seeing.
Today (Sunday the 26th) i'm in Paris (until Friday) so will give you news soon!
