The dorm in which both grandchildren live

School swim record board

Today we drove to Wenham, Massachusetts to visit our two oldest grandchildren currently attending Gordon College in Wenham. Our granddaughter needed to go shopping for a warm winter jacket which she will certainly need within the next few weeks. We meet both our granddaughter, Katie, and grandson, Morgan, at the campus and then drove to a nearby shopping mall and a store named Dick's. Dick's may not be a chain store but we have never seen a sporting goods store like this except in the likes of Cabela's. It is a really well stocked sporting goods store and if they don't have it is unlikely you need it.

After making her selection we adjourned to a restaurant for a great lunch and interesting conversation. Both of our grandchildren seem to be enjoying their college experience although both are critical of the food the campus cafeteria serves and neither are enjoying the current high humidity high temperature weather the area is currently experiencing.

The dorms are old buildings that are in good shape but are not equipped with air conditioning. We were treated to a tour of the campus and visited Katie's room and met her roommate. Both Katie and Morgan are members of the school team. This year will be Katie's first year and Morgan's second year on the team. Morgan, as a freshman, posted a school record in the 200 year breast stroke and his name and time is posted on the record board in swimming pool room.

In our last journal we hoped to provide some great photo's of the fall colors as we saw large areas where the leaves were turning color in New Brunswick and Maine but unfortunately the falls colors are just barely beginning to appear this far south. So, as of now, no photos.

That is all for now,

Ross & Marge
