| As we left the campground, we noticed a pond with gorgeous reflections and stopped. Both of us took pictures; maybe I'll get around to painting from one of them someday. Today we're driving again, and it is raining again. Wish we had some of this at home and in Texas! But by the time the day was over, the rain had stopped, the sun was out, and it turned out to be a beautiful afternoon. We are camped at a Nebraska State Park near Kearney. It is absolutely gorgeous with little ponds everywhere, huge cottonwood trees, and very few other campers. We went for a short walk and spotted a dead tree providing a roost for a batch of starlings. We sat down to watch for a few minutes, and they were shortly joined by a variety of woodpeckers. Fun! |
