Pelicans at Lake Saylorville, Iowa

We stayed two nights here to have some time off from driving and to do some bird-watching. Went to Jester Park which includes the upper part of Saylorville Lake. The most impressive sight was the rafts of White Pelicans—there must have been thousands all drifting around the lake just too far away to get really good photos.

Jester Park is supposed to have a display of elk and bison, and there were a few of each, but we've seen many more elk in Arkansas and bison a lot closer (sometimes closer than was comfortable) in Yellowstone.

It rained during the night quite a bit.
