Leaving Venice in the pouring rain, we headed out for our next destination...Verona, Italy. There we toured more Roman ruins and a Roman Arena in Piazza Dei Signori, still in use today for operatic performances and concerts due to its perfect acoustic qualities. Verona is purportedly the home of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. We were treated to the balcony where Juliet was allegedly serenaded by her lover Romeo.
