Left to Toledo, OH

Welcome to New Germany State Park. One of Tom's favorites. It has...

The lake at New Germany State Park

Today we drove through "Toledo, OH". Debbie took a moment of silence for her dad who was born and raised in Toledo. She said they use to visit there to see her grandparents during many summers.

Then we continued to our destination "New Germany State Park" where we went to have a great dinner at the Casselman Inn Restaurant located in Grantsville, MD.

Tom referres to New Germany State Park’s as the “best kept secret.” This mountain gem is nestled between the 2,900 ft. Big Savage Mountain to the east and the eastern Continental Divide along Meadow Mountain to the west. Named by early settlers due to its resemblance to their homeland, New Germany has diverse forests with ten miles of multi-use trails and a small lake suitable for fishing, swimming, and non-motorized boating. This park is ideal for families and individuals looking to “unplug” from a tech-reliant society and escape from the busy pace of life in cities and suburbs.
