| Here we go again...Underway for a new adventure. We were temporarily derailed by Hurricane Irene. Our original plans were to spend a few days on Hatteras Island (Pea Island). The Hurricane damaged the bridge over Oregon Inlet and washed out the road in several places. On a barrier island that means there are many new inlets between the sound and the ocean. Bob plans on attending his annual old guy surfer retreat in Kitty Hawk this year. I will be enjoying the beach at Kitty Hawk RV Park with Tommy and Mia (dog and cat). We decided to leave earlier than planned and drove through the night. We stopped several times for naps at rest areas. It was nice to have the comfort of my bed in the RV. The truckers were somewhat noisy with their diesels, but it worked for us. It was sort of like "boondocking." That is when RV'ers park somewhere like Walmart, Cracker Barrel or a National Park with out having the normal amenities...electric, water, sewer, etc. We will be stay tonight at a small RV park in Wilson, NC. Bob really needs a shower and he won't use the one in the RV...I don't understand and I don't bother about it. Tomorrow I will check in at Kitty Hawk RV park and Bob will attend the annual "Bob House" retreat. |
