Today was a very long, but exciting day! I went to bed early last night, after getting a tour of our headquarters in Florence and learning all about the poultry market in Italy. Today, I woke up at 5am Italy time (11pm USA) to travel to Bologna, and northern Italy with a colleague, to visit farms and customers. What a blast! Breakfast was interesting. Typical breakfast in Italy does not include eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, cereal, etc. It usually consists of pastries and coffee (what we would call espresso). We pulled into a ga sstation-type place and ordered a croissant (yum yum yum) and orange juice. Marco got coffee...another difference oin Italy: we stood at the counter and ate and drank while standing. That's how they do it here! There is no slow sipping of coffee. Its a shot of coffee and on your way. By the way, their orange juice is the freshest orange juice I have had. Everywhere you go and order orange juice, its a machine that they throw fresh oranges in while you wait. Yum! Marco was a lot fun to travel with. He asked me if I ever considered living in Italy for a few years to work for our Italy affiliate. He was so complimentary on my knowledge that he said he was going to tell his boss he should have me fill their open position here in Italy. "I'm not kidding, Bryana. You'd do a wonderful job." WOW! I've always wanted an international experience and here is one staring me in the face! We will see...off to the shower now. Ben in chicken houses all day...peeeewwww!!! Hoping to find a computer soon so I can give my fingers a rest on this bb.
