Our friends Roger and Sylvia Wiegand (recently retired UNL math professors) visited Aix this past weekend. Their daughter Andrea spent two years working here a few years ago, and they love to come back here to visit. Both are expert climbers and there is plenty of scenic and challenging rock climbs in Provence. On Friday, Roger and Sylvia took us on a hike on Mont Sainte Victoire. It was a beautiful day, although on the hot side. Alas, we (meaning our family) did not make the summit, but Tom and Janna have vowed to come back and try again when the weather is a bit cooler.
