|We took to the roads today to see Vancouver Island. With Shirley at the helm we travelled some back roads which took us to some very scenic spots . The views from the top of Malahat Mountain were breathtaking as we looked down on the water with the mountains as a backdrop highlighted by Mt. Baker in Washington State. Stops in Mill Bay and then Cowichan Bay were terrific. We ate dockside in Cowichan Bay and it was very picturesque. Our final stop was to Transfer Park in Lady Smith. The park was very nice with folks swimming and kayaking plus a concession stand for our daily ice cream fix. It was another gorgeous day here, our last. Heading for the ferry and then back to Surrey to pick up Don and Jeanne’s fifth wheel then back into the US and Everett Washington again. Perhaps you are not aware but our dollar is worth LESS in Canada. We have all had it with spotty to no cell service, smart phones that don’t work, and 5-10 percent taken from our money. We have had a wonderful time but we are looking forward to getting back to the states. Enjoy the pics.
