Shoshone Canyon Sep 3, 2011

Day 50 – Shoshone Canyon Today was a road trip through the Shoshone Canyon in the Wapiti area. There are stark rock outcrops and steep cliffs in many places. Pictures say it all. We ended with a picnic at the Buffalo Bill Lake and a tour of the Buffalo Bill Dam. The dam was completed in 1910 and was the highest in the world at the time. It was the model for the Hoover Dam. There is quite a canyon below the dam.
