This was a spectacular day of riding! Sunny weather, wide, wide open spaces and sights to see even along a highway. We took I-90 to rt 89 to I 15 up through Great Falls to Shelby. We knew Shelby would be small, and it was, but very friendly. The proprietor was an old woman named Sonja who looked like a Sharpei dog.but her warmth was amazing. The motel, (I use that loosely,) was a throwback to the early sixties. Big neon sign, two floors, no elevator, no heat in the room, (but she has an antiquated fan) and green shag carpet. I thought back to the night before and the crappy hotel we stayed in and realized that it was the Taj Mahal.
We had driven 767 miles and we were exhausted. We took showers, (I again use that term loosely) as I turned on the shower, waited for 15 minutes for it to heat up, realized the plug in the tub was evidently not working when I stepped in and the water was already to my knees. Cold water I might add. I was not in there long.
No big news. Tate let us know that all flight had been cancelled due to fog. He hopes that he'll make it out.
We hit the bed, (full size) and fell asleep quickly only to be awaken when Michael says, "where did the bed go?" I look down and both of our feet are off the bed up to our shins. A midget bed. About 1 foot shorter than most!
We Re starting into Canada this morning. All phones and IPads will be off until we hit Alaska again, which may be Wednesday. I'll let you know what happened along the way then. I've tried to reach my cousin Sandra, to no avail. My brother Milton, the mean on, probably gave her a stern warning no to let me in, because I'd never leave. Sandra, don't believe him. I am almost nice!
Talk to you all soon! Wish us well and please, keep on praying. Who knows what will happen when we hit Canada!
