Albany is a lovely tourist city - we enjoyed it by day visiting Whale World, the skate park,a great book shop, Saturday produce markets and the National Park. We stayed overnight a little way out of town at Cosy Corner, a delightful bush camping spot hidden under windswept trees. Cosy:yes, but noisy:perched right above the beach's crashing waves.
Whale World is an excellent museum which has used the old whaling station to it's fullest potential. Misery Bay used to be full of the blood from the processing of the whales from the 1950's 'til it suddenly closed down in the 70's.
