Well we said goodbye to Jane today as she headed back home to Ottawa with a very sore back. A very preventable accident on the truck stairs took out a participant that loved the ride! Someone needs to take ensure that the tour owners get this fixed.

Tough day on the road as well! Terri, Fred and I agreed to sweep. Frosty from Australia also joined the sweep team. We missed one turn on the route which saved us about 10 k but put us ahead of some riders but we found a good place to eat and cool our heals in Bouctouche at an intersection for the route. We had a traditional meal called Rapee, which is just a potato dish with ham done in a special way. Not bad but not something we would really take to. We also had a fish and chip dish that was super.

The other issue was we faced a very strong head wind for the first 80 k and with Frosty taking the lead for a bunch of k’s (he loves to ride fast) our legs were very tired by the time we got to Shediac. At Shediac we turned the corner just before the big lobster and then had the wind mostly on our shoulder for the next 55 k which was a lot better.

We made camp at around 5 PM and the evening was great after a hard day on the bikes. We also had a couple of minor rain storms through the night but nothing that was to severe.
