Little Hog Island near Naubinway, Michigan – East Jordan, Michigan, - Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore near Empire, Michigan
We crossed the Mackinaw Bridge on a very windy day. The speed limit was 20 mph for trucks and RV’s. I was glad that the trucks were actually doing 20 mph. We headed to see friends in East Jordan, Michigan. We were greeted to find our friends had improved their property by adding a large fire ring and a set of Adirondack chairs that had been refinished. We had some great meals both at home and out and about; burgers, rib eyes, and lasagna at home; ribs, chicken, sandwiches, and breakfasts at Darlene’s, Shirley’s, The Landings on Lake Charlevoix, Depot in Boyne City and the Deli on Beaver Island and finally a breakfast at the Friske Orchard Café.
We made some great explorations including an all day trip to Beaver Island which included the Beaver Island Full Body Massage by Ruthie, the tour driver. We did a bunch of geocaches, explored the Jordan River valley, and looked at a few enticing real estate properties. We had some evening games (Blockus and Farkle) and celebrated Linda’s birthday. We did a few projects including sorting out the Winnebago TV wires and our door that used to rattle.
We have now journeyed to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. The weather is nearly perfect. We rode our bicycles to the beach; Jim got a good swim and Linda got a good walk on the beach (more tomorrow, we hope).
