Connelly's on the Road 2011 travel blog

Saturday - We arrived at Bacchus Marsh in the afternoon. We are staying in the Bacchus Marsh Caravan Park. The cost is $29 2A per night, powered. Just a basic caravan park with not much room to move around in and is made up of mainly permanents.

We spend the remainder of the first day with Jim's sister & husband. Finishing off their visit with a lovely dinner at one of the local hotels in Bacchus Marsh.

Bacchus Marsh is officially still a town & still has that sleepy town feel to it. It is traditionally a market garden area, producing a large amount of the area's fruits and vegetables.

Sunday - We caught up with friends who took us to Queenscliff for lunch and shopping!!! The main street is a delight to stroll down as there are quaint little craft and antique stores as well as fine cafes and boutiques. Did I buy anything? Of course, but I didn't feel too guilty as Jim bought a trawler for his model railway.

Queenscliff is one of Victoria's most popular seaside destinations and is located 40km from Geelong and just over 100km south of Melbourne.

Tomorrow we are off to Ballarat.
