We are staying in the campground at the Theodore Roosevelt National Park in Medora, ND. This is an incredible national park in North Dakota’s badlands. Roosevelt said he would never have been president if it had not been for his experiences in North Dakota. There is a 36-mile scenic drive that climbs up from the Little Missouri River, through the silver sagebrush flats, past slopes, buttes and canyons, finally rising to reveal rolling grasslands. We saw herds of buffalo including moms with their calves, feral horses and an endless supply of prairie dogs. Not to be missed in Medora was the pitch fork steak fondue dinner. Yummy!
