| Got to Kalgoorlie quite early after an overnight stop 25kms west of Balladonia. Caught up with my favorite son Stephen who is living in the Prospector caravan park. It took me back a few years as my brother Alan and myself along with a crowd from work had a weekend in Kal. after travelling there on the slow train from Perth. We all stayed in chalets in the park for 2 nights to sleep off the booze mainly. As we dont stay much in caravan parks we got a shock when they asked for $45 for one nights stay, a rip off especially compared to rates over east. The town has changed dramatically since we were last here and we said we must come back and stay a few more days there next time. |
