Leaving Digby on the Ferry

Approaching St. John, New Brunswick

We woke before the crack of dawn to get to the ferry terminal at 7am for 8am sailing. We put the RV on the ferry and sat back and enjoyed the view. Unfortunately, Bonnie had to stay below deck in the RV; she napped and was very glad to see us 3 hours later. The captain announced a whale sighting, but I was in the gift shop buying a sweatshirt! Charlie didn’t see it either as he was keeping our seats where we could watch out of the front windows. I did see several pods of white-sided Dolphin Break the Surface. We left Digby in fog and misting rain. We eventually sailed into clear skies and sunshine. The 3-hour cruise was lots of fun!

We found the campground thanks to great signage. The streets in St. John are not easy to maneuver, lots of construction and many streets are not labeled. Once we got set up and Bonnie took a dip in the lake, we relaxed in the sunshine until dusk. We haven’t seen too much sun and decided to soak up as much as possible! A couple from FL who was also at the Digby campground was here from the ferry and we talked to the man who was walking his 2 dogs, Golden Retriever and Great Pyrenees. He was having mechanical problems w/his Motor home and he and Charlie were talking it out.
