On the way to a Birthday Party!

Another beautiful garden!

We left the windmills and the Sacramento River delta on Sunday morning to make the 2 hour drive to Petaluma in Marin County, north of San Francisco. After setting up at the nearby KOA campground (pleasant surprise now nice it was), we drove the 10 minutes to the house and were greeted by Cindy’s husband of two years, Charles Little—a tall, handsome retired teacher with a fun sense of humor.

Shortly, Cindy arrived with Noelle, 3 ½ year old Atticus, and 2 month old Maia. Noelle seems very much in her element as a mother—just decided she won’t go back to work for about a year. After Noelle and kids left for a birthday party, we had a great evening catching up with Lucinda (as she’s mostly called now) and getting to know Charles. She will be teaching two English classes at a local college this fall, and they both sing in a couple of choral groups. Lucinda is moderator of the UCC church she’s belonged to for a long time, and struggling with a new pastor that does not seem able to meet people’s expectations.

The fajitas were great and the blueberry pie a la mode for dessert definitely met expectations! We will plan to contact Aaron in DC next fall…
