It rained all night and morning. Kathy decided to do laundry instead of going out to fish creek. I did see one brown bear at a distance and said my goodbyes to the other bear watchers that I have met over the years. We left Hyder at 12:00 and head to the Meziadin fish ladders. The salmon run was in full gear but there were no bears. I think this place deserves a return visit sometime in the future. We got to Kitwanga in the afternoon and set up camp. In the evening we went looking for the Spirit Bear but drew a blank. We will try in the morning. At least the weather got better with partly cloudy skies and a balmy 60 degrees and just a few rain showers. The most intense thing all day was a semi passing on the left as I was getting ready to make a left turn. If I had not looked back this last post would never have been made, a very close call.
