PUtting our toes in the Pacific

Astoria Oregon

Lewis and Clark's Winter Camp

Since we have changed plans to return, we had to move out of the RV Park at Poulsbo. So we went to Long Beach, WA in southwest Washington, just north of Astoria, OR.

We took Vanessa and the grand-kids. They tried to camp out in a tent, however it was pretty uncomfortable. They went back after one miserable night in a tent. It didn't help that Chris was a toot and wouldn't go to bed.

Chris and I went to the beach on the Pacific the night of the 12th. The whole family went the next morning. The water was freezing cold, so there was no swimming. The sand was grey but thick and hard to walk in. We didn't bring sand castle tools, so that was a bust.

On the 14th, Merlene and I went to Astoria and the winter camp of the Lewis and Clark expedition. Very interesting. The Column at the top of the hill. The view was amazing. The picture of the Astoria Bridge across the Columnbia River was taken from the top of the Column.

Tomorrow, Mt St. Helens.
