Eagle River Wisconsin

We have friends that we met in Texas,Jerry and Jill, and they live in Three Lakes Wisconsin, which is about 10 miles from here. We plan to move over to their area and stay a couple of days before we move on. Today they will stop over and we will all head out to eat. When we told them our plans to attend the Rally in Madison they invited us on up. Jill said they were just north of Madisom. Those are Texas directions. Three Lakes is located about 200 miles north of Madison. That's okay as we are really looking forward to visting with them.

Eagle River was a surprise as we have never really heard of it, but this is a very nice friendly place. It is a town of about 1500 people and is surrounded by approximately 29 Lakes. In fact they say advertise it as the Chain of 29 lakes. Nancy and I went out to eat last night at the local restaurant. The food was great, service was great and the

coffee was only $1.29. I mentioned to the waitress that down in our area coffee is 2 dollars and up. She thought their coffee was expensive. To us it was a bargain.

Eagle River is also the Snow Machine Capital of the World. Each January they have a big rally and races involving the machines. Looks like fun to me, other than in January it has to be very cold up here. Since it is summer there are several wildflower gardens in the area. Really nice to see and most are located on the back public roads.

The Campground is really nice. Big woods to walk the dog, good water and a nice lake with a fountain behind our site. They have wireless here, but sometimes it gets a little busy and makes it difficult to load up pictures to our servers. As such hurrying to get it done before we move on. Hopefully we have not made to many errors. Since we were dry camping for 7 days in Madison we needed a good campground to get our RV cleaned up, tanks dumped and prepare for the next leg of our journey.

Hope you enjoy the pictures and thanks for riding along with us. Rick, Nancy Bandit and Belle
