Yesterday afternoon we drove to the town of St. Jean-sur-Richeiieu where we hoped to see some of the balloons fly at the balloon festival we learned about from our neighbor campers at the campground. We did not see any balloons in the sky as we approached the town and Ross concluded that the winds were to strong for a hot air balloon to go aloft. As we got closer and closer the traffic got heavier and heavier and when we finally got into the town everything was at a standstill. We decided to make a U-turn and get out of Dodge. This morning our neighbor camper who had a reservation for a flight in one of the balloons said that they never got to fly because of the high winds. Today was short drive day, with only 156 miles to travel from the campground to the campground in Levis and we got a late start around 1000. Traffic was moderate until we got through the Montreal area when thinned out for a while but got heavier as we approached Levis. We are not going to visit Quebec City which across the St. Lawrence River. We visited Quebec City in 2006 when we traveled across Canada on our first extended motorhome trip following Ross' retirement. Quebec City is the oldest city on the North American Continent and it is a well preserved city with a great deal of charm and clean streets and sidewalks and noticeable lack of graffiti. Tomorrow we will drive to Edmunsdston, New Brunswick which is about 186 miles from Levis and arrive in Fredericton on Tuesday, five days earlier than we originally expected. Today the weather is warm and humid. It looks like some rain showers are going to move in sometime this afternoon and we hope it will lower the temperature a few degrees and/or lower the humidity. That is it for today. Ross & Marge
